Melancholic art teacher Harry is obsessed with
the woman of his dreams and he sketches her night and day. But she only exists
in his mind...until one day when he sees her, flesh and blood of actress
Lily, in a TV commercial.
Harry and fellow teacher Gray, the mastermind of the riotous plot, pose as
merry producers in an effort to win the heart of Lily. A producer, know-all
get-all Steve, poses as a tennis pro and doubles partner in an effort to
get Lily to accept being a star of his film. A down to earth Lily Palm, sharp
and good looking, wants to give up acting to become a teacher, of all things.
To wit, instead of who gets the girl, the romantic chase becomes of who the
girl gets and falls in love with.
WHO GETS THE GIRL? (registered WGA/w) is a fairytalesque low to medium budget
romantic comedy written by Tudor Petrut. An award winning film star in his
native country of Romania, Petrut artfully interweaves the love struck artist,
clever producer, zany teachers, and unsuspecting model into a humorous tale
where love and greed drive men to outlandish lengths.
Now living in California, Petrut has written several screenplays for the
cable and film market and has worked in the theater and film in the U.S.
and Romania. He knows the writing craft well and creates vivid characters
that drive the plot with healthy laughs and subtle twists and turns.
