Conspiracy theories fail with prying eyes on either
New Mexico’s Roswell or the famed Area 51, because it is some miles away
in the Nevada desert and 100 feet underground where the real secrets are
buried!
Reconciled to carrying out his commission, weathered Air Force
communications specialist Mike Sloane accepts a seemingly mundane assignment
on a nondescript Nevada desert military base, known to few as Area 19.
But his tediously ordinary mission is nothing but as he finds himself embroiled
in the military’s most secret operation - trying to establish contact with
a confined alien from a spaceship crash. The brass, monitoring every move,
wants Mike to compel from this fragile being the plans of futuristic gadgets.
On top of military schemes, power struggles, and super technology, Mike discovers
an extra-dimensional link between the captive and his own existence. With
this knowledge, Mike must make a choice whether to follow orders or to betray
his government and risk his life to help his brother in the universe, the
alien.
AREA 19 (registered WGA/w) is a high concept sci-fi action adventure written
by Tudor Petrut. Dramatic character interaction dominated by the histrionic
Mike, clever dialogue, swift action, the incorporation of the latest technological
advances, and a skillful juxtaposition of suspense, conspiracy and humor
are what drive this absorbing tale of an underground base and its alien guest.
Award winning film actor and successful stage director in his native Romania,
Petrut, now living in California and working as a mathematics teacher, has
written several screenplays for the American cable and film market.
